As mentioned in a previous thread, open the free gems panel, download and install kobo, purchase any book (in my case a $1.11 title) and use the promo code 'Sept50' for a 50% discount (Google is your friend)... Effectively purchasing 1200+ gems for 55c (AUD for me)
