0. Introduction

So, everyone wants to know how to dungeon, and such, So here im giving a short intro, basic guidelines, what kind of stuff to focus on and more. Im also posting A video log on dungeons. Enjoy Reading.

1. Why should you do dungeon runs?

Well. Lets take a look onto what dungeons can give us:



Here we can see the dungeon Gives us a small amount of resources, nothing worth mentioning, but it also gives us a small amount of hb and it gives us a chance to drop shards. The hb is a good free resource, especially when you do higher dungeons, it can offer you an easy 500 hb a day, just doing dungeons. at lower dungeons you should get 250 a day easy with dungeons.

However, we are doing dungeons for the Shards and the Experience. For players that can't raid very well, dungeons and HBM are both an excellent outlet of farming experience and leveling fast. Shards only have a chance to drop, being about 25% estimated, but thats a fairly reasonable chance. Since shards are quite important in the game (either for farming your heroes or upgrading skills) we need as much as possible. Doing the above dungeon for example, 40 times a day gives us 40*10*0.25 = 100 shards a day, meaning we can get that druid in 18 days with doing dungeons alone, with HBM that goes even faster.

2. Which Dungeons should I farm?

Of course, this is a question a lot of players ask, so let me tell you how you can know in which dungeon you should be. There is no straight guideline for it, however, I can teach you how to calculate this yourself.

First of all, your heroes matter the most. If you do heroes only, I recommend using the following guideline:

add all levels of your heroes you use together in the following way:

Lvl_Ordinaries *0.5 + LvL_Elites*1 + LvL_Legendaries*1.5 = Hero points

This means for example with a full legendary team of lvl 80, you get 80*5*1.5=600 points. lvl 80's should bring you (without use of magic) to the End of dungeon 3. So 600 points get you through dungeon 3.

So lets give the value of a full dungeon 200 points. Half a dungeon therefore is 100 points.

For use of magic and heroes only, you should use:

Resoration_lvl*20 + Ares Fervor_lvl *10 + GA *100 + Ares Frenzy_lvl *20 = Magic points (havent seen the effect of Snowstorm yet, so cant add that one.

Then: Hero points + Magic points = Total points

This means that adding a lvl 5 restoration and level 1 GA to your 80's squad, you can clear Dungeon 4.

Last but not least, adding troops makes a huge difference too:

0.05*Amount(in spaces, not actual) * Multiplier * (5+Lvl of the troop) = Troop points

Multipliers are:
Guardians-1, Hammer Dwarfs-1.2, Savage ogres-1.5
Archers-1, Centaurs-1.2, Shotgun Dwarves-1.5
Mages-1, Griffins-2, Fairy dragons-2.5
Treants-1.2, Mechaman-1.5, Ornithopters-2.5.

Again: Hero points + Magic points + Troop points = Total points

So lets say now, we add 40 griffins lvl 3, to our 80's legend squad and resto lvl 5 + GA. that gives us:

600 + 200 + 120*2*8*0.05 = 800+ 96 = 896.
Theoratically (and maybe even for sure) we should be able to clear half of dungeon 5.

What I give here as Formulas should be taken lightly, its my personal approximation, and not 100% true. Skill levels and having heroes like druid and thunder god matter a lot. Without them as legends its a lot tougher.

3. What to look out for to become better in dungeons?

Most important thing, is having survivability. This is why druid is a must, and a tank is preferred too, together with the magic like Restoration and Guardian angel.

Second most important thing is having Area of Effect heroes, which means heroes that attack multiple targets with their skill, which is why Thunder God and Spirit mage are so damn good in dungeons, because they have this Area of effect attack, combined with the unlimited range of their skill, which makes that they dont have to get close to the threats, also giving survivability.

Last thing for dungeons is having raw force. Pumpkin Duke is the perfect example for this, buffing everything to the point all your heroes and troops go nuts. Its also the reason troops like griffins do the best (together with ornithopters, which are tanky, meaning survivability) and spells like Ares Frenzy can push you very far. So when focusing on dungeons, try to focus on survivability, and Area of effect skills/heroes, while also keeping your Pumpkin duke (and now even Cupid) up for the spots. Upgrade army camps to hold more griffins/fairy dragons and make sure you have at least restoration and guardian angel.

D5S2 is much easier than D5S1, do you think S2 is good for getting drops? I just started ...

IDK, to me it is, for some reason... I take out druid and only use restore and GA. Then I can easily get >50%... However on D5S1... IDK, maybe I'm dropping in the wrong place?? But hard for my heroes to make it out alive :(  I'm gonna look up on youtube, maybe I'm missing something...

OOPS, yeah I'm talking about the 16 shard one... with the new graphics, its hard to tell in the map...just double checked and it is the one with 16 shards.  But so far I have only gotten 2 drops out of maybe 6 tries.  Sorry about that :)

It looks like it comes after the other one, so I thought it is skull 2...
