[Off-Topic] Tired of the offensive posts. Is Reddit better?

Hi all,

more and more of the posts we've been seeing recently have been quite offensive and since I, like many others here, tend to read this space from work there's an unacceptable level of risk involved. Even if you disagree with the purposefully offensive content that's being put out there, you don't want it showing up on your screen where its presence could be misinterpreted.

I don't believe that this our Mods' fault, but rather the forum engine that IGG has put in place. We can't block users, there are no filters - essentially there appear to be no controls. And from what I can tell, certain IP's that should be blocked aren't - that's obviously not the fault of our Mods who I think do a good job.

So, until this forum gets upgraded and changes for the better, so that Mods have better control over who can and can't access, I wonder if anybody here also uses Reddit and if it's any better? I don't want to bother with the signup process only to find the same group of cro-magnons running wild there too. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Reddit is usually worse .... however atm there is a single person spamming multiple threads with inapropriate posts which to my amazement have not been removed by mods.

There are ways to stop subhuman pieces of trash from infesting places such as this, but they usually involve techies getting involved in process and doing things that exceed the technical capabilities of the trash.   Unfortunately, mods can't do it, and I doubt IGG will allocate a resource.

Reddit is generally known as one of Internet sewers, too, although I don't know if CC subreddit is affected.

Maybe that player has been infected by virus and needs to have their device reset.

Just reported the player to the FBI as hate speech and potential terrorist.  If enough do the same they'll be put where they belong.

I don't look at reddit for castle clash as much as I do for here.  However I have not seen any nude photos or extremely offensive generalized hate name calling on it when I have.

I have participated in numerous other forums.  I visited ea sports ncaa 14 forum way more than I do this one.   I never saw nude images.  I never saw posts that were completely meant to flame the fires of racism.
I regularly look at a fire emblem heroes forum and it never has those terrible things.

I think it is a monitoring issue.  In the past I have asked in the suggestion section that igg hire an employee to view all posts.  It would be easy on this forum as it doesn't have 100 posts a minute popping up.  The employee could be from anywhere in the world.  But even at minimum wage salaries in the United States igg could afford this.  It's peanuts to them in some countries where they could pay the person a dollar an hour or less.  Anyway.  It won't happen.  They are having terrible things posted in their broadcast section each and every day and they do nothing.  So they will continue to do nothing here too.

Actually, Here is my Frank Opinion.

Here is our side of this thing, Even if we Ban the person by IP, The person whom you are talking about is using a VPN, which allows him to acess diffrent IP form a single device. which is why  even if we IP ban him, he has a way around it. We have been requesting the Tech team to find a solution, but they  havent been able to pinpoint a suitable way to do so. I, Personally find it very exuasting and frustating that even after our repeated efforts to make the fourm friendly, this person always makes the fourm look like drain pipe were he can float all the things we wish to say. And Its not only me, I will say that the entire team is in fact frustated and and beyond harrased ever since he has started posting in the fourm in June 2017. I actually dont undestand what joy does he find in posting things like Porn and racist comments ? Like is he actually that Jobless that he gets joy  to post all of that ! I am rather Apalled, that either this is a Kid who has no sense in Posting, or a adult who acts like a kid and thinks he will get away with it. I will surely take it up with the admin, because we cannot  let him technically make our fourm members leave.

Thanks Desi. I figured that the mods would be as frustrated as many of us are, which is why I don't blame you. I really do think IGG needs to pull up their socks. They are still acting little league when, really, they have become big league - and need big league solutions.

I've been on forums where images/links went through a manual editing process before being posted - i.e. mods got alerts and could approve or reject them before releasing them. Others where known swear words would cause posters to not be able to post, until the offending words (highlighted) were corrected. There are always ways around this, of course, but rules like this lays down a set of hurdles. For my part, I wish I could flag messages and members who deserved it.

Yes, stuff like this is more expensive, but ultimately any forum is marketing for the game it represents. Right now, the marketing is downright poor!

Well as brutal as it may sound ... it is possible to blanketban VPN's as far as I recall. Yes this does require techknowledge (so can't be done by mods) but it is possible to make a site unapproachable by anyone using a VPN. Brutal to those who might be using a VPN for a legitimate reason, I know, but better then this if you ask me.
